For the first time ever, the Quest Kermodes men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball teams swept the Pacwest athlete of the week award.
Miriam Baumann from the women鈥檚 team and Theo VandenEkart from the men鈥檚 team won their respective honours to cap off an impressive start to the 2014-15 season for both clubs.
Baumann and the Kermodes are undefeated in Pacwest play and she earned the player of the week honours by two strong performances against Douglas College on Nov. 21 and Langara College on Nov. 22.
She averaged 12.5 points, 14 rebounds, 5.5 assists and two blocks over the two games. Baumann and the Kermodes are first place in the Pacwest with a perfect 7-0 record.
VandenEkart has made an immediate impact in his first year with the men鈥檚 team and continued his strong play during Quest wins against Langara and Douglas. He averaged 27.5 points, six rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals over the two games.
The men鈥檚 team sits second in the Pacwest with six wins and one loss.
Both teams return to action on Jan. 9 when they take on archrival Capilano University.聽
