Cudmore re-signs with rugby club

麻豆社国产native back for another year with Clermont Auvergne

Jamie Cudmore will be sporting the yellow and blue of ASM Clermont Auvergne for at least one more year after re-signing with the professional rugby club on Wednesday (Jan. 25).

The 麻豆社国产native, who plays forward on the French side, signed on the dotted line for one more season plus an optional year.

"Very happy and proud to sign on with ASM," Cudmore tweeted. "Best club, fans, region in France."

Cudmore joined the team in 2005 after spending a year with FC Grenoble. He's made 137 appearances for the club and was a key member on the team when it won the first French national title in team history in 2010.

Also re-upping with Cudmore was teammate Davit Zirakashvilli. Clermont director of rugby Jean-Marc Lhermet said he was pleased to keep the duo.

"These extensions are great news for the club," said Lhermet. "Jamie and Dato [Zirakashvilli] have been key players for many seasons in the rise of ASM Clermont Auvergne. They are part of our group, our family and I am very pleased that we can keep this continuity for the next few seasons."

Cudmore has represented Canada three times on the World Cup of Rugby stage, including this past summer in New Zealand.
