It might be time for Bruno Freitas to invest in a hat rack.
The Sikh Temple striker potted six goals to lead his team to an 8-0 victory over the Ellis Moving Eagles during Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL) action on Sunday (Feb. 19).
Freitas, who leads the league with 20 goals in 12 games, led the charge as Temple rebounded from a loss to first-place Khalsa on Feb. 12. Justin Cheema and Adam Bir also added goals for Khalsa, who improved to nine wins, two losses and one tie on the season. The Eagles fell to three wins, eight losses and one tie and remain in fifth place.
The afternoon game saw Automind hold on to a 1-0 victory over Galileo. Charlie Robinson scored the lone goal of the game and the victory marks the third straight win for the club, who are now only three points behind third place Galileo.
The other game on the day saw Khalsa pick up a 1-0 forfeit victory over Zephyr, who did not have enough players to compete. Khalsa continues to sit on top of the league with a record of 11 wins and one loss.
