Bike enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes descended on Whistler for the 10th annual Crankworx event and 麻豆社国产residents made an impact in several events.
麻豆社国产riders Greg Day and Brandi Heisterman both reached the podium at the Fat Tire Crit event on Aug. 9.
The event sees competitors race an 800-metre loop around Whistler Olympic Plaza several times, with riders at the back of the group being eliminated until only five riders remain for the final three to five laps.
This year's race saw 21 men and nine women battle it out. Day placed third in the men's competition behind Americans Spencer Paxson and Carl Decker. Heisterman also snagged a third-place finish, behind Port Moody's Leah Guloien and Maple Ridge resident Jean Ann Berkenpas.
Other locals competing in the event included: Chris Christie, Luke Di Marzo and Stacey Spencer.
Crankworx also hosted the Canada Cup XC finals on Aug. 14 and Di Marzo was the top local finisher. He placed second in the Men's 18 and under division. Squamish's Tobin Hubner placed eighth in the division, with Hunter Verner finishing 10th.
In the Elite Women's category, Brackendale's Heisterman finished 27 seconds off of the podium. She placed fourth behind Berkenpas, Coquitlam's Sandra Walter and Olympian Catharine Pendrel.
For the Elite Men, Day was the top-ranked local in 12th place. Christie finished 17th but both Neal Kindree and Quinn Moberg were unable to finish.
