Arkells frontman Max Kerman is hitting the road 鈥 this time to celebrate the release of his first book.
Part memoir, part self-help book, 鈥淭ry Hard: Creative Work in Promise鈥 is due to hit store shelves on April 22.
Kerman says tour stops will include his old high school in Toronto the day the book debuts.
He'll also appear at Calgary Word Fest on April 24, Winnipeg's McNally Robinson Booksellers on April 25, and Hamilton's Odds Bar on April 27.
The book promises to detail the day-to-day work of being a touring musician, including the nuts and bolts of writing a song, preparing for a show and marketing a band.
Arkells got its start in Hamilton in 2006, while Kerman and his bandmates attended McMaster University.
The band, which is named after the street they lived on, has released 10 albums and collected 18 Juno Award nominations.
In a promotional material for Kerman's book, Michael Bubl茅 says "it answers all of the questions" he had when starting his career.
