A Vancouver woman is pleading not guilty to charges of attempted murder and uttering threats, a Vancouver Provincial Court judge heard July 18.

A July 7 court information said Rosemary Andrea Halldorson is charged with the attempted murder of a man Feb. 19.

A second count alleges Halldorson, 59, committed assault of the same man the same day and carried a weapon for that purpose.

Count three alleges she uttered a threat to cause death or bodily harm to the man. And, count four alleges Halldorson committed an aggravated assault of the same person.

Defence lawyer Andrew Nelson told Judge James Sutherland his client was entering pleas of not guilty on all charges.

He said his client was electing a trial by a provincial court judge without a preliminary hearing.

Such hearings are generally held to determine if enough evidence exists to go to trial.
