Dozens of trucks made a convoy through Â鶹Éç¹ú²úin the Memorial Truck Rally for the Ross family on Saturday (May 29).

Gail (Margaret) and Merrill (Harvey) Ross, long-time residents of Squamish, died from complications related to COVID-19 within 17 hours of each other at the beginning of May.

They were a beloved trucking family in town.

Merrill's gravel truck, on a flatbed, led the way.

The event was organized by trucker Darren Doak, who owns JR Transport and was a friend of the couple.

The rally got started in the Â鶹Éç¹ú²údryland sort at 2 p.m.. Trucks blew their horns and then fell silent as Merrill's truck started the procession.

One of the lead vehicles had a sign that said, "Get vaccinated."

The convoy then snaked through Squamish before returning back to the log sort.

Along the way, residents cheered, waved, and gave thumbs up to the convoy.

Residents took to social media, too, to remember the couple and praise the event.
