Mounties, in their red serge, are partnering with to help the hungry in town by beefing up donations to (Â鶹Éç¹ú²úFood Bank) with the RCMP's annual Cram the Cruiser event.
On Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 39210 Discovery Way, officers and store volunteers will be outside Walmart to collect donations of toys, food, gift cards, and/or money, according to an RCMP news release.
Ideal donations for the food bank include toilet paper, cereal, peanut butter, jam, canned vegetables and fruit, coffee, tea, and healthy snacks, crackers, granola bars, or fruit cups.
“We encourage people to come down to Walmart on Saturday,” said Staff Sgt. Gareth Bradley of Â鶹Éç¹ú²úRCMP, in the release. “We’ll be collecting goods on behalf of community with a goal of filling the back of a police truck, and delivering them to Santa’s distribution centre.”
