Squamish’s monthly opportunity to laugh out loud is back at The Living Room on May 29 with two new comics bringing their best stuff to the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Damonde Tschritter of Vancouver headlines the show, bringing a lot of experience on stage and on screen to the Â鶹Éç¹ú²ústage.
In 2006, Tschritter became the first Canadian to win the Seattle International Comedy Competition. He was also awarded the gold medal performance given to the top comedic act during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
He’s also had comedy specials on networks such as CTV, CBC and the Comedy Network. Radio fans might recognize him from CBC’s The Debaters and he has also appeared at festivals all across North America, including Montreal’s Just For Laughs.
Tschritter also appeared in the movies Stark Raving Mad and Lone Hero, as well as the TV series Smallville.
Opening for Tschritter is Vancouver resident Katie-Ellen Humphries, who is making her Â鶹Éç¹ú²údebut. Humphries is a former three-time Canadian five-kilometre open water swimming champion and has been making a name for herself in the Pacific Northwest comedy scene in recent years.
Humphries opened for Kids in the Hall alum Bruce McCulloch at the San Francisco SketchFest and has also performed at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle and the Vancouver International Comedy Festival.Ìý
Â鶹Éç¹ú²úcomic Kelly Dyer will be the host for the evening and in addition to laughs from Tschritter and Humphries, he promises a few special guest spots from some of Vancouver’s up-and-coming comedians.
It all gets underway at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and are $12. For more information on the two comics appearing, visit www.damondetschritter.com and www.katie-ellen.com.
