Camp Day huge success

Community

The Â鶹Éç¹ú²úTim Hortons held its eighth annual Camp Day June 8, raising an unprecedented $3,000. The day's events included draws, prizes and "guest" workers who served coffee and made doughnuts for an hour in an effort to collect enough money to send Â鶹Éç¹ú²úkids to a summer camp.

The Tim Hortons franchise matched the raised funds allowing two local children chosen by Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Lions Club to attend Onondaga Farms in St. George, Ont.

The business's co-founder, Ron Joyce, established the Tim Hortons Children's Foundation several years ago. The non-profit, charitable organization allows thousands of children from less-well-off homes to attend a first-class summer camp for a few weeks of the year.

The Â鶹Éç¹ú²úTim Hortons wishes to thank guest workers Allison Scully, Nancy Hamilton, Jeff McKenzie, Jim McKean, Mike Chapman, Jeff Dawson, Ray Moyle, Bill Howard, Nelson Winter-burn, Larry McLean, Brian Hughes, Steve Waters and Kasondra Haber.
