麻豆社国产RCMP members are investigating the theft of two vehicles taken from local companies.
Last weekend, a grey Ford F350 Lariat with a crew cab was stolen along with some saws and other logging equipment from Elaho Logging's site beside Hwy. 99.
At 6 a.m. Tuesday (June 14) the RCMP were notified by Sabre Transport that a black 1995 Western Star tractor and a long box trailer were stolen overnight from Pemberton Avenue.
The white triple axle trailer is 12.2 metres (40 feet) long. Cpl. D. Ritchie said the vehicle might have been spotted traveling out of the Sea to Sky Corridor on the Duffy Lake Road. Ritchie encouraged anyone with information about either theft to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the 麻豆社国产RCMP.
Mini van and mini bus collide
A northbound Chevrolet mini van crossed the double solid centre line of Hwy. 99 at Britannia on June 9 and collided head-on with a south bound Perimeter Transport mini bus.
The driver of the van, a 55-year-old Pemberton man, was taken to 麻豆社国产General Hospital with injuries.
B.C. Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the mini bus and four mini bus passengers.
Ritchie said the driver of the van was given a ticket for crossing a double solid line.
Missing girl found
The Surrey RCMP reports a girl who was reported missing and possibly in 麻豆社国产is now back at home.Lorna Umber-Billy, 14, went missing on May 23. She left her home in Surrey and didn't contact her family again until this week.
The Surrey RCMP reported that when the youth ran away from home in the past she went to Squamish.
Surrey RCMP spokesperson Const. Marc Searle did not indicate if the youth spent any time in 麻豆社国产while she was away from her family.
Hot pot fills condo with smoke麻豆社国产Fire Rescue responded to a complaint at a suite at Marina Estates on Pemberton Avenue last week. The complaint came at 2:55 p.m. on June 8 from a neighbour who believed nobody was in the first floor apartment.
Firefighter Bob Fulton said fire fighters forced open a window to get inside the smoke filled apartment. A quick search of the suite revealed there was nobody in the residence and the smoke was coming from a pot that was left on the stove with the element set on high.
