1) Do not carve your pumpkin too early because it will be more odorous and begin to rot.
2) Avoid putting your pumpkin out too soon (bears are still around day and night).
3) Bring your pumpkin inside at night.
4) Compost your pumpkin in your compost tote once Halloween is over.
