It's been almost eight months since B&B Excavating has tasted defeat and the defending Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL) champions aren't showing any signs of letting up.
The team that last lost on March 18 continued its undefeated run on Sunday (Nov. 4) with a 3-0 win over Automind.
Jeremy Galley scored twice and Gary O'Neil added another in the win. B&B's record improved to six wins, zero losses and one tie on the season and it has only allowed five goals in seven games. Automind dropped to three wins and five losses on the season and is ranked fifth in the league.
The other early game saw Galileo keep pace with B&B, picking up a 3-0 win over Sikh Temple. Cristian Oreamuno picked up two goals, with Nico Lopez potting one. Galileo's record moved to six wins and one loss and it remains one point shy of first place. Temple maintained its fourth-place standing with a record of three wins, four losses and one tie.
The late game saw league-leading scorer Nathan Ward pick up a hat trick to help the Ellis Moving Eagles defeat Lilwat FC 9-1. Also scoring for the Eagles were: Austin Aldridge (two), Chris Golaiy, Ed Celella and Mike Peters. Hyatt Wallace scored for Lilwat, who also scored an own goal in the loss.
The Eagles improved to six wins and two losses and are tied with Galileo for second with 18 points. Lilwat's record dropped to one win and seven losses.
HSMSL action will continue on Sunday (Nov. 11) with the Ellis Moving Eagles taking on B&B Excavating, Sikh Temple battling Automind and Galileo challenging Lilwat in the late game.
