B&B's hot streak continues

HSMSL champions set for first place showdown this Sunday

The wins just keep coming for B&B Excavating.

The defending champions continued their red hot streak in Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL) action with an 8-2 win over the Ellis Moving Eagles on Sunday (Nov. 11).

It's almost eight months since the last time the team lost a game and the emphatic win against the Eagles proved they are showing no signs of letting up. Jeremy Galley picked up a hat trick, Dan Clouth scored a pair and Gary O'Neil, Hans Schranz and Chris Johnstone added singles. Chris Golaiy and Alex Eslick replied for the Eagles, who dropped to six wins and three losses on the season. B&B Excavating (7-1) maintained its first-place standing.

The other game on Sunday saw Automind beat Sikh Temple 5-1. Griffin Dare scored twice, while Eric Reynolds, Arie Venderbeyden and Charles Carter also scored in the win. Donny Weisz scored the lone goal for Temple. With the win, Automind leapfrogged Temple and now have sole possession of fourth place with a record of four wins and five losses. Temple dropped to fifth place.

HSMSL action continued on Monday (Nov. 12) with Galileo defeating Lilwat FC 10-0. Full details from the game were not made available by press time, but Galileo kept pace with B&B with the victory. Galileo's record moved to seven wins and one loss and it remains one point out of first spot.

The league returns to the pitch on Sunday (Nov. 18), with a first-place showdown between Galileo and B&B Excavating highlighting the week. Automind takes on the Ellis Moving Eagles in the other early game and the afternoon game will see Sikh Temple tangle with Lilwat FC.
