The Howe Sound Cannons will be looking for their fifth title in the past six years after advancing to the North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA) finals with two playoff wins on Saturday (Aug. 11).
The Cannons swept the Reds in a doubleheader, winning 6-1 and then 13-1 to move on for the big prize. The squad will be taking on the winner of the Pirates and Brewers series starting on Thursday (Aug. 16) in North Vancouver.
"Jeremy Galley and Alex Whishnicki pitched gems and Troy Morphy and 'Lips' Webb had hot sticks," said Cannons first baseman Tyler Magee. "Manager Jones likes our chances to dominate once again."
The best of three final will start on Thursday, with game two taking place on Saturday (Aug. 18) and game three, if necessary, taking place later Saturday afternoon. All games take place at Parkgate South field in North Vancouver.
