The Howe Sound Cannons proved there's no place like home with two dominant wins in a doubleheader against the A's in North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA) action on Saturday (June 22).
After dropping a 5-3 decision on Laroy Watt Field to the Brewers on June 8, the Cannons returned with two 10-0 wins over the A's.
Game 1 saw Justin Krazanowski lead the way with two home runs and four runs batted in to cruise to the win. Three other players collected two hits apiece in a game that saw every Cannon but one get on base.
Starting pitcher Jeremy Galley allowed only four hits over five innings, striking out four to secure the win. He also contributed offensively with a double.
Game 2 was more of the same with Krazanowski and Troy Murphy both hitting home runs and seven different Cannons picking up RBIs. David Jones was on the hill and threw a no-hitter over five innings. He picked up two strikeouts and benefitted from perfect fielding by the Cannons.
The Cannons improve to eight wins and three losses in NSMBA action and sit in first place in the league. The club hits the road on Thursday (June 27) to take on the Reds and then will compete in the NSMBA's midseason tournament on July 6 and 7.
The next home game for the team occurs on July 13 when they host the A's. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. For more information on the Cannons, visit www.ballcharts.com/hscannons.
