The Howe Sound Cannons continued their winning ways with a pair of victories over the North Vancouver Brewers at Laroy Watt Field on Saturday (June 23).
The Cannons beat the Brewers 7-3 and 10-5 in an afternoon doubleheader to extend their winning streak to nine games in North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA) action.
"'Big Daddy' Kraz and Troy Morphy both hit towering home runs," said Cannons first baseman Tyler Magee. "And team captain Jeremy Galley and Alex Wishnicki pitched great with 'Ol' Lips' coming in for the save in the seventh inning."
The Cannons improved to 10 wins and one loss on the season and now have a four-game lead on the second-place Pirates. Howe Sound travelled to North Vancouver to take on the Brewers this week, but results were not available at press time.
Next up for the Cannons will be the Inter River midseason tournament in North Vancouver on July 7 and 8. The next home date for the club will be on July 14 when the Reds come to town.
