The boys of summer are back on the diamond.
The Howe Sound Cannons returned to North Shore Men鈥檚 Baseball Association action on May 2 with a commanding 12-0 win over the Reds in North Vancouver.聽
Pitchers Jack Thompson and Shawn Hetherington combined for a five-inning shutout and allowed only three hits.
Matty Taylor, Justin Krazanowski, Justin Lawrence and Kurtis Malm all had two hits and Hetherington and Alex Wishy led the way with two runs batted in apiece.聽
Howe Sound was scheduled to make its home debut on Saturday, May 9 for a doubleheader against the Brewers but the game was postponed. They returned to action on Tuesday, May 12 against the Reds in North Vancouver but results were not available at press time.
The Cannons hit the road on May 23 to battle the Cardinals in North Vancouver and then return home to Laroy Watt field on May 30 for a doubleheader against the Blue Jays.
