The boys of summer have returned to LaRoy Watt Field.
The defending North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA) champs invited the Brewers to town for a doubleheader to kick off the team's home season.
It proved to be a hit-and-miss weekend for the Cannons, as they took care of business in Game 1 on the strength of a solid pitching performance by Jeremy Galley. He managed to shut out the Brewers 3-0 in the win.
Game 2 saw the Brewers score early and hang on for a 5-3 win.
First baseman Tyler Magee said it was a nice return to 麻豆社国产despite the setback in the second game.
"Troy Billy hit two towering home runs and "Bigg Rigg" Smith made his return once again and was in fine form," he said. "Jer Galley and Dave Jones also pitched very well. Matty Maut also was a base-stealing fiend, collecting five stolen bases. We would also like to thank everyone for coming out to watch."
The Cannons boast six wins and three losses this season. The team will next travel to North Vancouver to take on the Reds on June 20. The squad's next home game will take place on June 22 when they welcome the A's for a doubleheader.
