The Howe Sound Cannons win streak was ground to a halt at nine, but the club recovered to win game two of a doubleheader against the Reds at Laroy Watt field on Saturday (July 14).
Howe Sound dropped the opening game 4-2, but then stormed back with a 10-2 win in the late game.
"Jeremy Galley hit two towering homeruns and Tor Purvis hit his first homerun as a Cannon," said Cannons first baseman Tyler Magee. "Lips Webb pitched a gem in game two and 'Big' Brent Dunsford was swinging a hot stick as well. We had a team pool party after where thankfully no injuries happened this year."
The pair of wins improves the Cannons record to 12 wins and two losses and the team remains in first place in the North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA).
The Cannons will next travel to Vernon to take on the Diamondbacks in a trio of games taking place on Saturday (July 21) and Sunday (July 22). The squad will conclude the regular season on July 31 for another date with the Reds. The NSMBA playoffs are set to begin on Aug. 7.
