The Vancouver Northeast Chiefs are coming to town and bringing some of the best young hockey players in the province with them.
The B.C. Major Midget League (BCMML) squad will visit 麻豆社国产to participate in two neutral-site games on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 15 and 16). The visit is also an opportunity for the 麻豆社国产Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) to learn from the Chiefs.
Chiefs head coach Doneau Menard will speak to local players on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on what it takes to play at a higher level in hockey, while associate coach Bob McQuaig will present a seminar entitled "Teaching Your Power Play" to local coaches o Sunday at 11 a.m. Both seminars will take place in the junior lounge at Brennan Park.
Between the two seminars, the Chiefs will hit the ice, taking on the North Island Silvertips on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and battle the Vancouver Northwest Giants on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday will be a homecoming of sorts for two members of the Giants as former 麻豆社国产residents Major Kaila and Jarid Lukosevicius will make their return to Brennan Park Arena. Lukosevicius scored 42 points in 40 games last season for the Giants and finished 19th in BCMML scoring.
The Chiefs ranked third in the BCMML last season, with the Silvertips finishing seventh and the Giants earning top spot in the league.
