Rock climbing, yoga and highlining may not have a lot in common, but the first 麻豆社国产Uprising Festival aims to bring all three activities together on Aug. 15.
It kicks off bright and early with yoga at the parking lot of the base of the Stawamus Chief starting at 6:45 a.m. Forest, vinyasa and acro yoga are all offered, with classes running from 60 to 75 minutes. Classes run all day until 6:30 p.m.聽
The Rampage Bouldering competition, a major part of the festival, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the grass space near the parking lot of the Stawamus Chief. The event features the outdoor bouldering competition, a barbecue and gear demo, and acupuncture and massage services. Entry into the competition is $30, with all proceeds from the event going to support at-risk youth and the 麻豆社国产Access Society.
All things highline and slackline are also celebrated with the Assault on the Chief portion of the festival. It鈥檚 the third year for the highline festival, and the free event allows anyone to test their skills on the line or just watch some of the best highliners in the world do their thing.
The highlining part of the festival occurs on the Stawamus Chief and runs from 9 a.m. 鈥檛il late.聽
Following the events, an after party will be held at the Ruddy Duck on Saturday night.
