A new trail running series has been launched and Squamish-based races will be two of its four stops.
The 23-kilometre route from last summer's 麻豆社国产50 event, along with a brand new race that takes place next week on the trails near Quest University, highlight the new Coast Mountain Trail Series (CMTS).
"Our aim with the CMTS is to deliver unforgettable trail experiences in new and diverse locations on trails that take your breath away," race director Gary Robbins said in a statement.
The series kicked off on March 23 in North Vancouver with the Cap Crusher and is followed by the Survival of the Fittest race in 麻豆社国产on Saturday, April 13.
The 13 km loop kicks off at Quest University and takes racers along trails like STP, Somewhere Over There, Hoods in the Woods and Poop Alley in between two bridge crossings at Darwin's and Carpenter's Sons. The finish line is also at Quest University and organizers pointed out that they have aligned with the Dancing Bear Music Festival, also taking place on April 13.
The third race in the series, Buckin' Hell, is scheduled May 18 at Mount Seymour, with the final race in the series being the 23 km route at the second annual 麻豆社国产50 on Aug. 10.
The 23 km route will see runners start at Quest University and eventually wind their way to downtown Squamish. Entry into the race is only available to runners who register for the full CMTS. Organizers stated it is a more difficult route than last year, with more climbing than last year.
