A trio of 麻豆社国产residents made an impact at the first Whistler Blackcomb Ski Cross event of the season on Jan. 18 and 19.
The series of recreational competitions is open to participants aged nine and up and athletes compete based on age and discipline on the Nintendo Terrain Park Snowcross course.
The top local athlete was Jack Cormack, who placed third in the Male 12 and 13 category. Cormack placed first in both his first- and second-round races and then grabbed third place in his division final. Cormack posted a finals time of 35.98 seconds.
Squamish's Gemma Bexton also took to the slopes and picked up a seventh-place finish in Female 12 and 13 division. She finished in the top two in her initial race to qualify for the semifinal but failed to advance to the final. Bexton finished the course in 37.73 seconds in the semifinal.
The other local to compete at the event was Robyn Schenk, who placed 27th in the Female 10 and 11 category. Schenk completed the course in 44.20 seconds in her quarterfinal race.
