Curling season fast approaching

HSCC opening its doors to players of all skill levels

It's almost time to rock and roll again at the Howe Sound Curling Club (HSCC), which is welcoming all old and new members to the start of a new season on the ice.

As in the past, there are evening leagues for men's, women's and mixed teams, as well as the Monday evening charity league.

The club has four morning leagues. Mondays are open to any age and you can enter your own team, but Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are for seniors and you will be placed on a team - no experience necessary.

If you are new to the game, the Friday night social league might be what you're looking for. It consists of two sessions of eight weeks of action.

The junior program runs Wednesday's after school and there will be a league with coaches for those juniors who have taken lessons.

Registration and information nights are Sept. 11 and 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the HSCC.

There will also be free ice time and instruction offered during the evenings of Oct. 3 and 4 as well as every Monday in October. A fun opening bonspiel, open to all players, will be held on Oct. 5
