Curling season ready to rock

HSCC planning for a busy 2012-'13 season

The rocks are ready to fly for another season at the Howe Sound Curling Club (HSCC).

The club is welcoming all old and new members back for the 2012-'13 season, which gets underway in October.

As in past years, there are evening leagues for men's, women's and mixed teams, as well as the Monday evening charity league and three morning leagues for seniors. The junior program runs Wednesdays after school.

In addition, the club has added a Monday afternoon league and organizers hope to get the Friday night social league up and running with two sessions, one before Christmas and one after.

Registration nights are Sept. 12 and 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the club, located at 2458 Mamquam Rd. The first big event on the calendar will be an open house and free instruction on the sport during the evenings of Sept. 26 to 28.

Other big dates for the club include: the women's bonspiel (Nov. 23 to 25), the men's bonspiel (Jan. 12 to 13), the mixed bonspiel (Feb. 2 to 3) and the master's men's bonspiel (Feb. 27).
