The first-ever 麻豆社国产Wind Festival is jam-packed with more activity both on and off the water than you can shake a stick at it.
The event takes over downtown 麻豆社国产from Friday to Sunday (July 25 to 27), but one of the unique attractions for the festival is the hands-on opportunities to experience some of the highlighted sports.
Opening day on Friday features an arts and music celebration, but on Saturday (July 26), with the 麻豆社国产Open Annual Regatta (SOAR) distance race as its backdrop, anyone can learn more about paddle sports of all shapes and sizes at the paddle sports demo.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, experts will be on hand at the Mamquam Blind Channel to answer questions and give anyone the chance to experience what it鈥檚 like on the water firsthand.聽
Sports represented at the demo include stand up paddleboarding (SUP), canoes, kayaks and the Mount Cha-Ki Warriors canoe team will also be on hand. All interested are encouraged to try out all the different vessels and discover the fun of getting on the water. The entire demo session is completely free of charge for everyone.
Those interested in kiteboarding, don鈥檛 worry, because the festival has all of you covered on Sunday with a free kiteboard demo session. From 1 to 5 p.m. at Nexen Beach, attendees can learn about one of the planet鈥檚 fastest-growing sports and you can ride a trainer kite.聽
Anyone unwilling to try the sport on Sunday can stick to land and just fly an actual kite from 1 to 2 p.m. on the beach or check out the Big Air kiteboard competition at the 麻豆社国产Spit from 2 to 4 p.m.
