After just three weeks the Ellis Moving Eagles have quickly established themselves as the class of the Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL).
The Eagles handed defending champions B&B Excavating a rare loss on Sept. 15 and continued the momentum with a 4-0 win over Galileo on Sunday (Sept. 22).
Nathan Ward scored twice, with Chris Knight and Paul Park Baxter adding singles. The win improves the Eagles to three wins and zero losses on the season and have only allowed two goals.
The other early game saw Sikh Temple defeat Ocean Sun 12-1. Randeep Cheema and Gurpreet Rai scored four goals apiece, Victor Ihejieto scored twice, with Chris Johnstone and Othmene Kabbadj also adding goals. Charles Carter scored the lone goal for Ocean Sun in the loss.
Sikh Temple moved to second place with a record of two wins and one loss after the victory, while Ocean Sun falls to one win and two losses.
The scheduled afternoon game of B&B Excavating versus Lilwat FC was postponed due to the torrential rainfall on Sunday afternoon. The two teams will have a make-up game to be scheduled at a later date.
The HSMSL returns to the pitch on Sunday (Sept. 29) with the Eagles taking on Ocean Sun and B&B battling Sikh Temple at 10 a.m. The afternoon game features Galileo challenging Lilwat FC. All games occur at Brennan Park.
