After opening the season with a loss against Burnaby on Nov. 16, the Eagles have bounced back and head coach Tony Mahood said it's all about the team's improved defence.
"We were a lot better defensively today," he said. "And it was just a better overall effort. We also got some really good goaltending."

The Colts opened the scoring three minutes in, but Â鶹Éç¹ú²úcame roaring back, scoring two goals in three minutes to close the first period. Tak Gray scored the tying goal, with Dan Munn and Isshin Chiyasu drawing the assists. Chiyasu then scored the go-ahead goal, with Kyle Luca and Dan Milia picking up the helpers.
The second period saw both goalies steal the show, with neither team lighting the lamp, but Ryan Fraser made it 3-1 for Â鶹Éç¹ú²úafter a blast from the point during a four-on-four situation, with Munn and Mason Moberg getting the assists. Thirty-four seconds later, it was Moberg himself scoring to make it 4-1. Chiyasu and Colby Mahood drew the helpers on the fourth goal. Cloverdale added a late goal, but Beauregard shut the door the rest of the way to secure the 4-2 win.
