Eagles fall to Sun Demons

Midget rep team drops 6-4 decision

The special teams proved to not be so special for the 麻豆社国产Eagles midget rep hockey team on Sunday (Nov. 6).

The Eagles lost to the visiting North Delta Sun Demons 6-4 and the team's power play and penalty killing proved to be the difference. The Eagles went one for five on their man advantages but allowed two power-play goals and two shorthanded goals in the loss.

麻豆社国产fell behind 3-0 in the second period but then the Eagles fought back. Lucas Conway blasted a shot from just over the ringette line past the Demons goalie at 6:01 of the second and added an almost identical goal four minutes later to draw the Eagles within one. Manny Parra picked up the helper on the first goal, with goaltender Chase MacDougall drawing in on the second marker. Isshin Chiyasu then tied the game up with 39 seconds to go after a nice setup from Mason Moberg to head into the final frame tied at three apiece.

Chiyasu got on the board nine seconds into the third period to give the Eagles the lead, but it was short lived. Less than two minutes later North Delta scored on the power play and added another goal with the man advantage three minutes later. North Delta picked up another late goal for the 6-4 win.
