Eagles qualify for provincials

For the first time in over a decade, the 麻豆社国产Eagles have qualified for the Bantam A provincials.

麻豆社国产punched its ticket with a resounding 11-2 victory over the North Shore Winter Club Winterhawks on Sunday (March 1). The Eagles kicked off the Bantam A Final Four tournament with a 4-1 win over the Semiahmoo Ravens on Saturday (Feb. 28).

Sunday鈥檚 game saw Squamish鈥檚 Devon Bailey open the scoring just 1:52 into the game after being set up by Kief Ranada and Nick Sutherland. The Winterhawks tied the game up with just over two minutes left in the first period and the game was knotted at one after one period of play.

麻豆社国产blew the game open in the second period, scoring six goals to cruise to the win. They added four more in the third period, with the Winterhawks adding a late goal.

Also scoring for the Eagles were: Matt Hedberg (hat trick), Sutherland (hat trick), Noah Vague (two), Steven Grantham and Isaac Benoit.聽

Based on the pair of wins, 麻豆社国产has already qualified for the Bantam A provincials but could finish as a higher seed if they can defeat the Langley Eagles on Monday (March 2) at 9 p.m. Monday鈥檚 game will be for the banner and face-off is set for 9 p.m.

Regardless of what happens on Monday, the Eagles head to Port Hardy for the Bantam A provincial championships from March 26 to 31.
