麻豆社国产Bantam A team off to Provincials

The 麻豆社国产Eagles Bantam A hockey celebrate its banner win after beating Langley on March 2.

There鈥檚 a brand new banner hanging up at Brennan Park and it鈥檚 all thanks to the 麻豆社国产Eagles Bantam A hockey team.

The Eagles finished off the regional playoff run with a 6-3 win over Langley on March 2 to win the PCAHA Tier 3 banner and move on to the Provincial championships with a higher seed.

Team captain Isaac Benoit scored five goals and added one assist in the win, with Nick Sutherland adding the team鈥檚 other goal. Also picking up assists were: Scott Konkin, Callum MacDonald, Sutherland and Kief Ranada.

Next up for the Eagles is the provincial championships in Port Hardy from March 15 to 18. Read The 麻豆社国产 for more details on how the team fares at the provincials.

In other 麻豆社国产Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) news, the group handed out its annual awards on Saturday, March 7, and the following individuals were honoured: Murray Thrower (John Hunter award), Heather Hedberg and David Knight (volunteer of the year), Matthew Carratt (Rep A coach of the year), Dale Smith (House coach of the year), Marc Wilkinson (initiation coach of the year), Nick Sutherland (referee of the year), John Hunter (new official award), Cory Nunn (dedicated official award) and Monique Van Bibber (manager of the year).
