Endurance multisport club hosting Fitness Expo

Local experts will discuss racing as new fitness books displayed at library

The library might not be the first place 麻豆社国产residents think of when trying to get fit, but thanks to the 麻豆社国产Titans endurance multisport club, it鈥檚 now a possibility.

For the past four years, the Titans have helped cover the cost of about $1,000 worth of new books and DVDs for the library. The club has helped purchase books on triathlon, swimming, running and cycling, as well as biographies on inspiring athletes and books on both strength and nutrition.

To help celebrate the collection, the Titans are hosting the first-ever Fitness Expo at the 麻豆社国产Public Library on Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new books and DVDs will be pulled off the shelves to make them easier to find for patrons, and a panel of three local fitness experts will chat about their areas of expertise.

The guests include Kristian Manietta, the founder of Trispecific.com, an international triathlon coaching business; JF Plouffe, recreation and fitness coordinator at Quest University; and Sylvia Rayner, a sports hypnotherapist.

The panel sessions occur from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and the group will discuss topics such as how to find a coach, what to look for in a coach, taking charge of your fitness, committing to racing, and the physical and mental aspects of racing.

Both the panel and expo are open to everyone and are free to attend.
