The rocks are getting ready to fly at the Howe Sound Curling Club.
The club announced that its Fire and Ice Mixed Open Curling Bonspiel is set to take place on Jan. 28 and 29. The bonspiel will see 12 teams divided into two groups (fire and ice) that will battle it out for bragging rights.
The action kicks off on Jan. 28, with morning draws of 8 and 10:30 a.m., followed up by afternoon draws at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Morning draws will continue on Jan. 29, with curlers hitting the ice again at 8 and 10:30 a.m. and the event's final draw taking place at 1:30 p.m.
Draw prizes will be handed out on Saturday evening, along with a prize awarded to the last team to score a double takeout on the day. Bonspiel winners will also receive cash prizes.
Registration is closed for the event but organizers said they are looking for a few curlers to fill out select teams, especially female thirds. Those interested can contact organizers by emailing [email protected].
