It's been an exciting season for the U13 Girls 麻豆社国产Fireballs soccer club and the squad will now battle it out at the provincial tournament after a strong showing at the B.C. Cup on May 8.
After taking second place in their Silver Division 1 regular season play with a record of 11 wins, two losses and two ties, the Fireballs were eligible to play for a shot at the B.C. Coastal B Cup. The team made it all the way to the semifinals but lost its final game against the Powell River Cobras on April 17.
However, this was not the end of the road for the Fireballs as they learned they would have an opportunity to qualify for provincials in a game against the North Shore Eagles on May 8.
The two teams were deadlocked in a scoreless tie through regulation and after 20 more minutes of scoreless overtime, the game headed to shootout. Again, nothing was settled after both teams scored three times and the game moved to a sudden death shootout. The Fireballs scored shortly thereafter, qualifying for the provincials and continuing their season.
The Fireballs will now make their way to Powell River for the Youth B Provincials in July, where they will represent the Coastal Region. The team also wanted to recognize the support given to them from the 麻豆社国产Fire Department.
The 麻豆社国产Fireballs team roster is made up of Tatjana Vogel, Makenna Bailey, Rylie Venables, Charmaine Bedry, Sukhpreet Rai, Cori-Lee Ward, Lyra Tuck, Lauren Batcho, Alexandra Wade, Shondra Martin, Amhani Jones, Jasmin Grewal, Briana Gonzoles, Aimee Laventure and Brooke Molby.
