The top finishers at the 2015 RBC GranFondo will leave the Sea to Sky Corridor with the most padded wallets in the history of the event.
Fondo organizers announced on Dec. 10 that total prize money is increasing from $25,000 in 2014 to $50,000 in 2015, with both the top male and female finisher receiving a cool $15,000. The remaining $20,000 will be split amongst the next 19 male and female finishers.
鈥淭he return of the Giro received a great welcome from the riders and the cycling community last year, inspiring us to take the race experience further for 2015,鈥 stated Neil McKinnon, founder of GranFondo Canada in a press release. 鈥淣ot only are we able to provide one of the largest prize purses for a single-day event in North America, we are also able to further encourage the progress of cycling to the community.鈥
