Four 麻豆社国产'Giants'

Group of four Squamoleans help lead midget team to Telus Cup

Four 麻豆社国产natives proved to be an important part of the Vancouver Northwest Giants during the team's run to the Telus Cup and in the British Columbia Major Midget League (BCMML) playoffs.

Josh Thrower, Jared Lukosevicius, Major Kaila and Bret Higman all played significant roles on the team that won the regular-season title, then advanced to the Telus Cup regional finals to take on the Hockey Alberta representative from Red Deer.

Lukosevicius was second on team scoring with 42 points during the regular season, while Thrower was second in scoring for all defenceman with 26 points. After compiling a record of 29 wins, five losses and six ties during the season, the Giants took on the Greater Vancouver Canadians and eliminated them two games to one on March 18. The Giants then swept the Cariboo Cougars in two straight on March 24 to advance to the Telus Cup in Alberta.

Thrower managed to score the overtime winner to eliminate the Cougars 2-1, just as his brother Dalton Thrower did a few years ago.

Unfortunately for the 麻豆社国产natives, the Giants' season ended a little early when Red Deer swept them aside, winning 1-0 on April 6 and winning 4-3 in overtime on April 7.
