Galileo continues undefeated streak

Men's soccer team's beats Eagles for fifth straight win

Galileo just keeps on winning.

Last season's runner-up continued its undefeated streak on Sunday (Oct. 21) with a 3-1 win over the Ellis Moving Eagles. Galileo improved to five wins and no losses this season and has only allowed six goals in those five games.

Richard Moody, Luis Oreamuno and Cristian Oreamuno tallied for Galileo, with Nathan Ward scoring for Ellis Moving. The Eagles remain in third place in the Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL) standings with a record of four wins and two losses.

The other early game saw Automind get back on the winning track with a 9-2 triumph over Zephyr. Automind improved to two wins and four losses on the season and leaped into fifth place, while Zephyr remains the only winless team in the HSMSL with a record of zero wins and six losses.

In the afternoon game, Sikh Temple won its third straight game of the season with a 6-0 win over Lilwat FC. Scoring for Temple were Victor Ihejieto (two), Steve Bir, Gurpreet Rai, Justin Cheema and Devon Cheema. Temple improved to three wins, two losses and a tie on the year maintained their fourth-place spot. Lilwat dropped to one win and five losses on the year.

HSMSL action continues on Sunday (Oct. 28) with B&B Excavating taking on the Ellis Moving Eagles, Sikh Temple challenging Galileo and Automind battling Lilwat FC.
