The footballs were flying at Quest University, but the real winners at the second annual Sea to Sky Touch Football Classic were Right To Play and Howe Sound Secondary School football.
It all happened on Sunday (April 19) and while there was a smaller turnout than last year, the event raised $1,400 for the two groups.
Teams from Quest University and Howe Sound Secondary School took to the field at Quest battling in short games with two Quest-based teams squaring off in the final. Teams consisted of a mixture of soccer and basketball varsity athletes. In the end, The Green Machines defeated the BMS in an all Quest final.聽
Event organizer Dylan Kular said it was great to help the two groups, and he hopes to grow the event in the future.聽
鈥淭he event鈥檚 purpose is to raise funds and awareness for both Right To Play and Howe Sound Secondary Football, and we hope we can attract more teams in order to support local and international initiatives,鈥� he said. 鈥淭he tournament would not be made possible without Jim Errington and the Howe Sound Football volunteers, and the rest of the volunteers from Quest. It was another successful year and I can鈥檛 wait for the next one.鈥�
