Head wins in Stevens Pass

Coming off a 10th place showing in his division at the Canadian Open downhill race at Crankworx, Squamish鈥檚 Harry Head returned to the trails in style with a win at the Northwest Cup #5 in Stevens Pass, Wash. on Sunday, Aug. 24.

Head rolled to win in the Cat 2 Men 15 to 18 division with a time of 3:18.24, over three seconds ahead of second place in a field of 28 riders from all over the Pacific Northwest.

The win moves Head into the top spot in the points standings heading into the Northwest Cup finals at Port Angeles, Wash. from Sept. 12 to 14.听

It鈥檚 been a good season at the Northwest Cup for Head, who placed third at race one in Port Angeles back in April, second at race two in Port Angeles in May, third at Mount Hood, Ore. in June and sixth at race four in Silver Star in July. Head will look to capture the NW Cup in September.
