The Howe Sound Hitmen won their final game of the GSL North Shore Football regular season Sunday 31-13 against the visiting Trojans.
Howe Sound came out the gate a little slowly, giving up an early touchdown, but a rushing major from Jackson Gordon got the Hitmen back on the board. Gordon was also particularly strong with kicking extra points for the team, as he was able to put the ball through the uprights with laser-like precision.
While the first half was close, the home team ended on a high note as Reniel Belandres took advantage of some good blocks and his own shifty moves to run in a long TD.
The defence came up strong throughout the game, applying some heavy hits to the visiting team.
Howe Sound now heads on the road this Sunday to face the league-leading Lions for their playoff game to determine who will play in the championship on Nov. 29.
