Floorball clinic aims to teach hockey players new skills

Young hockey players looking to expand their skills are invited to check out a new clinic on the sport of floorball and learn how the game can help improve puck handling and overall fitness.

Micheal Lindgren has helped increase the popularity of floorball in 麻豆社国产and he's looking to spread awareness of the benefits of the game to local hockey players in a free clinic at Brennan Park on Monday (Oct. 1).

The sport, which originated in Sweden, has been exploding in popularity and recently received recognition from both the Special Olympics and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Lindgren is now looking to work with the 麻豆社国产Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) to build a relationship and help develop local athletes' skills in both sports.

Floorball is also open for kids of all ages outside of hockey to join, with regular open sessions taking place at Brennan Park on Mondays. Lindgren himself has joined up with the SMHA and is coaching the Pee Wee C-2 team.

The free clinic will take place at Brennan Park on Monday (Oct. 1) at 7 p.m. and is open to all.For more information on the clinic or on floorball, email Lindgren at [email protected].
