While many dads probably received cards for Father鈥檚 Day, a 麻豆社国产dad received a taste of victory.

Watching from the sidelines, Jody Parry saw a team made up of his sons, Noah and Luke, and their longtime friends claim first place at Coquitlam鈥檚 annual Play On! street hockey tournament.

鈥淚t was a great Father鈥檚 Day,鈥 Parry said.

With sneakers on their feet and hockey sticks in their hands, the under-19 players from the Milk and Cookies managed to secure some dramatic wins.

One nail-biter of a game, Parry said, was a complete reversal.

A team from Surrey had the Milk and Cookies on the ropes, and appeared to be poised to take them out.

At halftime, the opposition was winning 5-2.聽

But the Milk and Cookies made a big comeback, edging out their foes to claim an 8-7 victory.

It was a pattern that repeated itself once more for their final game.

Trailing at 2-0 against another team from Surrey, the Milk and Cookies pulled together and managed to reverse their fortunes.

鈥淚 scored the first one and we got a bit pumped,鈥 said Rajan Gill, a forward on the team who organized the Milk and Cookies.

After that, Gill said, the momentum was on their side.

The team made a complete recovery and then some, propelling them to win with a closing score of 10-7.

It was a victory made all the more special because the Milk and Cookies had been trying to get the gold at this competition for several years.

鈥淲e came in more confident this time,鈥 said Gill. 鈥淚 think that was a big thing.鈥
