The Howe Sound Men鈥檚 Soccer League (HSMSL) returns to the pitch on Sunday (Sept. 14) and the defending champions are welcoming a new team from our neighbours to the north.
Sikh Temple, last season鈥檚 champs, take on a brand new team on opening weekend, as a club based in Whistler joins the league.聽
Week one action also features the Ellis Moving Eagles battling Galileo. The HSMSL features five teams this year and games take place on Sunday at Brennan Park with one game at 10 a.m. and one at noon.
The league continues each Sunday until late November, when a winter break is scheduled. Play resumes in mid-February and continues until the middle of March.聽
One team not involved in the HSMSL this year is B&B Excavating. Members of the team have come together to start a new team to compete in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League (VMSL).
麻豆社国产United FC is competing in Division 3 and kicked off their VMSL campaign on Sunday (Sept. 7) with a 9-0 win over Arya FC in North Vancouver. The team next plays in 麻豆社国产at Brennan Park field against West Coast Celt on Saturday (Sept. 13) at 5:45 p.m.
