JABR to shell out cash

Prize money aims to attract top-level riders to Aug. 18 race

Top finishers of the 2012 Just Another Bike Race (JABR) will be in the money, thanks to Pearson Financial.

The founding sponsor of JABR recently announced that there will be cash prizes for the 2012 race on Aug. 18.

"We are excited and proud to be involved and to be able to give back to this great sport as it showcases the amazing mountain bike trails 麻豆社国产has to offer," said Pete Pearson, Pearson Financial president and CEO.

The firm is providing prize money for first, second and third place overall for both men and women racers with prize money being distributed equally between the genders.

"Equality in prizes for both men and women was an important part in offering this prize purse," Pearson said. "Being the main sponsor for JABR and now offering a cash purse for the race, Pearson Financial aims to aid in the development of the local mountain biking talent and offering cash prizes in local events benefits our local riders and community by attracting participants from outside of the Sea to Sky Corridor, thereby increasing competition and awareness of our community's epic mountain bike trails."

The top prize of $300 will be given for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.

"JABR is pleased to be one of the few mountain bike races in B.C. that is able to offer cash prizes," said Dwayne Kress, JABR race director.

"We are grateful to be working with Pearson Financial and are proud of the opportunity this provides JABR and the competing riders."
