Pacwest soccer action is back and week one for the Quest University men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams will be a busy one with three games on the docket.
Quest will be the site of the first game of the season on Sept. 3 when the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams host the VIU Mariners. The women kick off at 1 p.m., with the men getting underway at 3 p.m.
Action continues on Saturday (Sept. 6) when the teams travel down Highway 99 to battle arch-rival the Capilano University Blues. The women hit the pitch at 1 p.m. and the men get going at 3 p.m.
The teams return to the friendly confines of Quest University field on Sunday (Sept. 7) when the Douglas College Royals come to town. Sunday sees the women play at noon and the men at 2 p.m.
Both teams have new head coaches, with Alexander Elliott taking over for the men鈥檚 squad and Craig Smith moving from assistant coach to head coach. The men鈥檚 team has not tasted victory during the Pacwest regular season since Oct. 23, 2011.
It鈥檚 a different story for the women鈥檚 team, who earned a silver medal year. The TRU Wolfpack, who defeated them in the gold medal game last year, have moved to the CIS and the Kermodes will look to build on their best season ever in 2013.
