It was the ladies turn to ride on Saturday (Aug. 2).聽
A total of 153 female riders invaded the trails of Garibaldi Highlands for the third annual Hot On Your Heels event and it was Whistler resident Samantha Shook who posted the top time of 12:06.8.聽
Shook beat out pro ride Raewyn Morrison by five seconds for the win.聽
The enduro-styled race sees riders complete four different stages to add up to a cumulative time. Whistler鈥檚 Leonie Picton had the fastest time in stage one (3:26.88), Morrison was the fastest in stage two (2:26.77), Whistler鈥檚 Veronika Voracek won stage three (1:27.64) and Shook cleaned up in stage four (4:34.98).
Although the event is timed, it鈥檚 all about having a good time, with a male-only volunteer group that is sometimes scantily clad.聽
The 153 riders continues an upward trend for the event that saw 112 riders in 2013.
Praise for the event echoed throughout the 麻豆社国产social media world.

Participant Shannon Lorenz, who placed 124th, said it was a fun ride on the trails.聽

All of the money raised from the event went to the Go Girls! Healthy Body, Healthy Minds program.聽
Go Girls participants learn about nutrition, being active and feeling good about themselves.
