It came right down to the wire, but Vancouver's Cameron Laker took home the 43rd annual 麻豆社国产Men's Amateur golf championship on June 16.
Laker birdied hole No. 1 in a playoff to beat out Eric Ceseff of Vancouver to win the top prize. Both players finished the tournament with gross scores of 148 to sit tied after 36 holes and force the playoff.
Laker received $480 for his first-place showing, with Ceseff taking home $405.
麻豆社国产resident Scott Hutchinson shared the leader board on Day 1 with a round of 73 but struggled on Day 2 to keep pace with the leaders. Hutchinson finished with a net score of 144 and won $355.
Defending champion Jay Banfield of 麻豆社国产also fared well, with a low gross score of 151 and had the fifth-lowest gross over the two days. Adrian Lasselle-Low had the lowest net score among locals with a net of 144 and finished fourth.
David Dines of Burnaby won the low net prize with a score of 141, with Paul Batchelor of New Wesminster winning the Big Break contest to help him secure an entry for the 2014 tournament.
