Because of an alarmingly low turnout so far, Howe Sound Minor Ball (HMSB) officials have added one final registration date for all interested players on March 27.
According to HSMB president Bob Versluis, registration is down "big time," as much as 50 per cent overall for the association.
He added that the status of the junior and senior travel teams is also up in the air as only four players have signed up for the senior team. Organizers of the North Shore League that 麻豆社国产players competed in last year have granted an extension for any 麻豆社国产teams to join up, but it's their final chance.
Versluis said that if there's no junior or senior team, 麻豆社国产players will be forced to join a team in North Vancouver if they want to continue to play ball.
HSMB is still looking for anyone who has the time to help out on the executive committee for the group. Versluis said the group is always looking for people to help out, whether it be with equipment, umpiring or managing divisions.
"Everybody in our executive has been doing what they've been doing for a long time," he told The Chief. "There's always a few people wanting to scale back and it's time to get all these new people involved. We want to get some new people on board."
The final registration date takes place on March 27 at Brennan Park from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information on HSMB, visit www.howesoundminorball.ca.
