Howe Sound Secondary School (HSSS) grad Sarah Lepine capped her ski cross season with a strong showing at the Swiss Nationals in Switzerland on April 6.
Lepine placed 11th at the event in the Alps and was knocked out of contention in the quarterfinals.
"It was a really cool course," Lepine said. "Lots of space between the features including a halfpipe feature right in the course."
It's been a good season for Lepine, who placed second in the Nor-Am cup standings and first at a March 10 Nor-Am race in Fernie. She won four medals in total - two golds, one silver and one bronze.
"Overall it was a really great year," Lepine said. "I improved a ton and I really want to thank [head coach] Drew [Heatherington]. While I'm really proud of second, next year I'd like to improve enough to win the Nor-Am title."
Lepine arrived home just in time to return to her coaching duties with the HSSS Sounders rugby team. The team started practices earlier this month and games will be getting underway soon.
